This was an amazing story. I got caught up in the deathdate theme because I was such a fan of the anime Death Note, but even without that I would've been curious about this. It's an interesting base line for a story, no arguing that.I especially liked that it was a lot less para than it was normal, even though I enjoy vamps and the like very much, it's nice to get something like this into the mix. It was a very good murder/frame mystery story with a paranormal touch, keeping you on your toes with a bit of action, and has you feeling for the characters with lots of the good kind of drama. Plus, the romance was only a smudge, a little island of pink in all the dark chaos, so totally cute it made me smile from ear to ear in that last scene. I thought it was great to not have it take up such a big part and ruin the story along the way.Maddie and Farraday made an awesome team of heroes in my opinion. He was so reluctant to believe in her, in anything supernatural, logical mind that he is, but if it meant saving a life, he'd try anything. Maddie was just as adamant in wanting to help, not just her friend Stubbs or herself, but also strangers. They made a very nice match characterwise! It always warms my heart when families come patched together like this -- the universe sure has a special way of working things out.When was my un-put-downable read of 2014, and I'll enjoy re-eading this many, many times, even though I already know how it ends.
